Pneumonia vaccinations
Pneumonia vaccine is indicated for the same group of people as flu vaccine.
Pneumonia Vaccine is given once only ever for most patients and can be given any time of the year.
PATIENTS REQUIRING MORE THAN ONE PE=NEUMONIA VACCINE INCLUDE
Patients who received there first pneumonia vaccine before 65 years of age should have a booster vaccine after 5 years
Patients who have had their spleen removed should get a booster every 5 years
Other immuno-compromised patients (HIV, chemotherapy etc) should discuss vaccinations with their consultant or GP.
