Diabetes Clinic

We are members of the DiGP (Diabetes in General Practice) Group for the since 2005.  As part of this group we have been
  • Advocating for the provision of better services for diabetic patients
  • Undertaking continuing education in Diabetes Management (Dr Hill has completed the Diploma in Diabetes in Primary care UCC 2012)
  • Auditing our care of diabetes patients annually to ensure that we are achieving the best possible outcomes for our patients

We manage all our non-insulin dependent diabetics in our dedicated diabetic clinic.

To provide the best quality service we do your blood and urine tests 1 week  before the clinic

Then a week later you return for
Nurse visit for weight, blood pressure, body mass index, dietary advice, advice on monitoring your sugar, health education etc

Doctor visit where we review you blood pressure, cholesterol, kidneys, eyes, feet, glucose control, medications etc as well as any                       concerns you may have.

DIABETIC EYE SCREENING
We encourage all our patient to avail of the national screening for diabetes related eye disease Diabetic Retinascreen.
All patients should receive a yearly recall to this screening program once they have registered at the link above
