CHANGES DURING CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK

DURING LEVEL 5 ONLY URGENT CASES REQUIRING PHYSICAL ASSESSMENT WILL BE SEEN IN THE SURGERY -

DURING LOWER COVID LEVELS

WE ARE SEEING PATIENTS AND ENCOURAGE PATIENTS WITH MEDICAL PROBLEMS TO CONTACT US.

All patients will have to answer questions when requesting an appointment to ascertain if they have any risk of Coronavirus (cough, shortness of breath, fever, loss of sense of smell, other respiratory symptoms or risk of contact with coronavirus case).  The doctors will decide whether a patient will be managed by telephone consult, video consult or brought in to the surgery for assessment.

We will be limiting patients in the waiting room to reduce risk to patients
Patients may be asked to remain in their cars and they will be called in when the doctor is ready to see them.

PATIENTS MUST WEAR MASKS WHEN ATTENDING THE SURGERY

PATIENT SAFETY

To maximise appointments available and to reduce face to face time which increases risk of COVID transmission we are asking all patients to prepare for appropriate examination before the doctor enters the room e.g.
  • Remove jacket and sweater and roll up sleeve if need a BP check or blood test
  • Remove shoes and socks if need a foot examination (eg diabetic check-up)

Non risk patients - Routine appointments will be seen in the morning clinic.

Any patient with respiratory symptoms will be seen in the late afternoon only to avoid risk to other patients
